Anti-Meth Public Service Announcement
From IOOV and CDGLCC
March 1, 2008
On March 15th, 2008, the Capital District Gay and Lesbian
Community
Council, Inc. (www.cdglcc.org) and In Our Own Voices, Inc.
will launch a new project aimed at stemming crystal meth use
in LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning)
communities in Upstate/Central, NY – specifically in Albany,
Schenectady, Schoharie, Saratoga, Columbia, Greene,
Montgomery, and Rensselaer Counties.
Entitled “Crystal Free”, the project includes
awareness-raising billboards in each of the seven counties
listed above, a website, education and
awareness-raising outreach, and a meth recovery/support group.
The project was funded by a grant from the
New York
State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services
that was administered in the late fall of 2007.
